Eleven seasons, one platform

KPL did not start without infrastructure. From its very first season, the league ran its player auction on LeagueStage, and 11 seasons later, that has not changed. What has changed is the league itself. Over 11 seasons, KPL has grown from a community cricket tournament into a structured, competitive league. Team owners arrive with strategies, players are retained across years, and bidding is tighter, more deliberate, and higher stakes than it was in Season 1. The auction has kept pace with all of it.

How the auction has grown with the league

Every season has brought more registrations, stronger team strategies, and greater attention around who gets picked, retained, or becomes the biggest buy of the day. As the league became more competitive, the pressure on the auction floor grew with it. More players in the pool meant longer auction days. Bigger purses meant every bid carried more weight. Owners tracking retention slots, category quotas, and remaining budgets simultaneously needed a system that could hold all of that without error. When questions came up mid-auction, such as the last confirmed bid, remaining purse, or whether a team could legally continue bidding, LeagueStage provided a clear record. Every bid logged. Every purse updated in real time. Every roster rule applied consistently, not decided under pressure. That kept the floor clean across all 11 seasons.

The auction as an event

The KPL auction is no longer only a process of assigning players to teams. It is an event in itself. Player profiles, live purse updates, team rosters, and sold-player moments display on a broadcast-style screen, giving owners and spectators an experience that matches the weight of what is happening on the floor. That shift happened gradually, across seasons, on the same platform.

Season 11, by the numbers

Season 11 ran on 18 November 2025 with 6 teams, 162 players, and a total auction pool of 60,000 points. Each team held 10,000 points.

  • One team spent their entire purse
  • Two teams closed within 250 points of their cap
  • Highest bid of the day: 2,000 points
