The event

BNI Hyderabad's Bharath Shah Cricket Tournament ran its inaugural player auction on 9 November 2025. Inspired by the IPL format, the event brought together 12 team owners, 202 registered players, and a total auction pool of Rs. 12 crore. Each team held Rs. 1 crore to spend.

The challenge

Running a player auction for 12 teams and 202 players with crore-value purses on the line requires a system that enforces every rule automatically, tracks every rupee in real time, and gives the room a broadcast-quality experience. A spreadsheet and a presenter on a laptop does not meet that bar.

How LeagueStage ran the auction

LeagueStage handled the full auction lifecycle. Players were called to the block one by one. Bids were entered on the companion device. Every team's remaining purse updated the instant a sale was confirmed.

  • Rules enforced automatically on every transaction
  • Squad size limits, purse caps, and base prices
  • Broadcast screen with live player stats and standings
  • Real-time purse updates and sale animations

The result

Two teams spent their entire Rs. 1 crore purse. One team closed with Rs. 30,75,000 still in hand. The highest bid of the day was Rs. 21,00,000, well above the base price range and showing strong demand for top players.
